Markers with a dot show precise locations. Plain markers are used where there is uncertainty about the exact location or other details of a visit.
Blue markers refer to Peter the Great’s visit.
Yellow markers are used for Herzen and his entourage.
Green markers indicate Herzen’s visitors.
Purple markers are for other Russian associations in the second half of the nineteenth century.
Red markers are used for late 19th and early 20th century radicals.
