Housekeeping

I’m very pleased with my new banner (the picture’s taken from Dickinsons’ comprehensive pictures of the Great Exhibition of 1851). If you’re wondering why I’ve got a picture of the Crystal Palace up there rather than St Basil’s or an illustration from a Russian fairy tale, you may wish to catch up by reading a couple of my posts from last year on the Crystal Palace in Russian literature (part 1 and part 2). My thanks to John for sorting that out.

The eagle-eyed amongst you may also have noticed the ‘follow me on Twitter’ button that has appeared in my ‘syndication’ panel. After months of prevarication, I have finally decided to take the plunge (@russianist). So what can I say? You can follow me on Twitter, or not, as you wish. Someone asked recently why I don’t have facebook thingies on my website, but I don’t do facebook.
